Biography

I strive to create a warm, safe, open, non-judgmental space where you feel seen, understood, accepted, and supported. My approach to therapy is compassionate, relational, and collaborative. I enjoy fostering strong connections with my clients, while helping you work towards your goals for mental, emotional and relational well-being.

My specialized experience includes working with relationships, in both individual and couples therapy. I aim to support you in improving your communication and sense of connection within your relationships, while also exploring ways to honor yourself and your needs. I have supported couples at various life stages, particularly during key transitions such as engagement, marriage, or transitioning into parenthood.

I have specialized experience in perinatal mental health, offering support for those navigating the transitions of family planning, pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. Together, we can process the complex emotions during this transformative time, as well as explore preventative measures for your mental, emotional health, and relational health.

Background and Education

I am currently a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Washington (License #LF61351094). I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Point Loma Nazarene University and continued my education to pursue my Master's degree of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy at Seattle Pacific University. It’s important to me to continue to be a lifelong learner, so in my practice I prioritize openness, further education, learning, and growth regularly. I also am accepting and affirming of in working with clients of all ages, demographics, and backgrounds.

Finding the right therapist is important, so it is essential to me that you feel respected, accepted, listened to, and comfortable. I enjoy connecting with clients through empathy, authenticity, warmth, and humor, when appropriate. I utilize a personalized approach in working with each individual client and enjoy collaborating with you to meet your goals. I am always deeply honored to walk alongside you in journey towards growth, healing, insight, and healthy relationships.     Makenzie Kinloch Therapy PLLC is in-network with Aetna insurance. With other insurance plans, this practice can provide a superbill for clients wanting to try for out-of-network reimbursement. It is your responsibility to be informed about your insurance plan, benefits, and coverage. Accepted payment for sessions include debit cards, credit cards, or health savings accounts. If cost is a barrier to therapy for you, I welcome any conversations or questions you may have.
